Every time I look at our Godiva ( Bridgett and Brentley ) I realize what a special dog she is . 7 years old this year. One of a kind for sure. I have owned labradors for 25 years and can appreciate what people put into their breeding. I would really only want to buy a pup from you so I will just wait. Not a problem .. Attached is a great shot of Godiva , her two daughter's Gina and Cocoa and Cocoa's daughter Tootsie. They are all the loves of our lives. Godiva and Gina are my house dogs and Cocoa and Tootsie are my sister's.

It has been forever since I emailed you with an update on Godiva , my Brigett X Brentley 3 years old in July female. She is doing wonderfully. The finest retriever we have ever owned or seen. Last year when she was around two years old after we had gotten all her health clearances I decided to breed her. She truly is the finest CHOCOLATE dog I have ever know personality trainablity and just manners like you can not imagine. In all my having puppy years we have never bred chocolates as quality is my top priority. When Godiva came along I knew this was what I had been waiting for to have quality pups. I looked around for about one year for the perfect mate for her and I found it in Pa. Amberlyn Kennels. I have always liked the look of the Dickendall stud dogs and found one in my own backyard. We bred Godiva to Amberlyn you Never produced a beautiful litter of 9 chocolates on 2/12/01. I Kept one female to be a companion for Godiva since she is my only house dog and she has proven to be every bit as excellent as Godiva. She is a little darker and looks much like her Father and Grandfather Brentley. I will get you a good picture of her but for now I will attach a few of Godiva and Gina doing what they love best. I could go on for hours talking about what an incredible credit to the chocolate breed this line is but I am sure you know that. The head shot is of my Gina . Gina also has the blue harness on. It is hard for me to tell them apart sometimes myself. Godiva is the joy of my husband's live and she feels the same way about him. She and Gina retrieve on our farm every day one hour in the am and one hour in the pm. We take them to the beach on a VERY regular basis , more than once a month and sun rain or snow they are out there. Enjoy the few pictures I have sent and if you have time to look up Amberlyn Kennel I am sure to will know the quality we chose for her. Thanks and I will update you again and more often. The chocolate pups on my page are all Godiva's. Best Regards, Stephanie - bachmanmillfarm.

Zeus: Bluereadingmail.jpg at 6 weeks old. 4/24/04 Zeus loves to mow the grass with Doug, more like watch and sleep. Zeus loves to go through the flower beds filled with dirt, than the wet dewy grass. I don't get it. Zeus gets yelled at, so he moves onto the weaving path of the rock block landscape edging.

This morning, Zeus ran errands with me. He jumps into the front seat while I run to get coffee. Next we went to the grocery, I let him go since we had kind of a chilly morning. He had the windows rolled down and sunroof open. He is going to get mad when it gets a little warmer and can't go. When I came back he is sleeping on a jacket. I opened the hatch (I drive a trailblazer) and he is standing and greeting me like he is King Tut. People pass by and say how cute he is--you know he is soaking it all in. Then this lady stop to pet him, he treats her like he has known her, giving her kisses. She laughs and thinks it is great. While I am loading groceries in, he is standing an approving all of them. He also knows that he always gets something, so he patiently greets all the bags of food. He gets his bone (which we have been giving him off and on for 20 min at a time and he has been fine). Next it is off to the carwash--which he tries to catch the water. But this time he is too busy with his bone. Next the dry cleaners, still busy with his bone. Now, the drive home. Sunroof open and he is standing between the seats like the titanic girl off the boat with only his nose sticking out of the sunroof. Cries when we pass by my parent's house. Unload the truck and he crashes out. When Doug gets home from work he will be going back and forth helping Doug extend the patio. Vera

Well, Zeus just celebrated his 5th Birthday and he is doing very well. He keeps busy with many activities including getting into mischief. He loves going everywhere with us, loves to be around people and not left behind at home. His new loves include going to the park and playing on the kids toys (climbing on bridges, slides, and, etc.). He goes into work with Doug each night at the golf course to make sure the irrigation is turning on-he adventures to play in one of the ponds teasing the swans and running through sprinkler heads-just like a little kid. The poor guy gets exhausted!

He took his first lake trip, we took him up to our friends lake cottage (normally when we up it is for the afternoon and Zeus loves going over to Grandma's to visit, which is like Christmas for him). This time we decided to take him with us. Boy, did he have a ball! He loved jumping in and out, pulling lilly pads out, and loved boat rides. One thing that surprised us was that we would throw a ball or stick off the pier and he would run and jump in after it. We knew how good of a swimmer he was, but jumping off the pier for style points with no fear was an added bonus! Of course, we forgot the camera. We will try to send an action picture of him soon!  Doug and Vera
